Overview: We will study a number of hadith collections along with a study of hadith terminology. This will be accompanied with practical analysis of the fiqh of hadith. Further, there will be a detailed study of the reasoning and methodology of ikhtilaaf (juristic difference of opinion) as it applies primarily to hadith.
Overview: There will be a detailed study of the fiqh regarding the five pillars of Islam as well as a study of contemporary legal issues as it relates to our daily lives. This will be coupled with a detailed study of theories, maxims, and objectives of Islamic law. This study will provide a solid framework for not only Islamic legal principles but also Islamic thought and analysis of contemporary world issues.
Overview: This course will provide foundational guidelines and principles in Islamic theology. The course will take you through the pillars of faith as codified by Islamic scholarship based on the Quran and Sunnah. Utilizing an agreed-upon text in Aqidah, this course will allow you to appreciate the differences that are acceptable within the umbrella of Ahl us Sunnah wal Jama’ah and understand the boundaries of normative Islamic belief.
Overview: There will be instruction in principled Islamic thought with the intent of developing an appreciation for the robust intellectual tradition of Islam as it relates to contemporary realities.
Overview: Our intent is to develop mentors who are trained in the functional skills necessary for mentorship and community guidance. The following skills will be incorporated into the educational experience of the students to provide.
